Volume 01·A Field Guide to Cacao Without Forests·2026·Tel Aviv
№ 00 Manifesto

Real cacao,
no trees. No deforestation. No supply collapse. All year, every year.

Kokomodo cultivates the world's most beloved ingredient inside a cell, not a forest — preserving cacao's flavor, its function, and its future in a place the climate cannot reach.

№ 01 The Reckoning

By 2050,
the cacao belt
is forecast to collapse.

−42%
The projected contraction of land suitable for cacao cultivation by mid-century. Rising temperatures, irregular rainfall, and accelerating deforestation have placed the world's chocolate supply on a clock that has already started ticking. — Source: International Center for Tropical Agriculture / IPCC modeling

The industry has spent decades searching for resilient cultivars and disease-tolerant varieties. We took a fundamentally different approach: we removed the field from the equation entirely.

№ 02 The Method

A bank of cacao
cell lines, four years in the making.

Inside our facility, a continuously expanding library of cacao cell lines grows independent of weather, soil, geography, or season. Each line is selected, cultivated, and characterized for flavor, function, and nutritional density. The result is cacao that is biologically real, environmentally untethered, and infinitely scalable.

Real cacao
Biologically identical to traditionally grown — not a substitute.

Geography-agnostic, season-agnostic, climate-agnostic supply.

Selected, cultivated, characterized.

Every cell line in our bank is screened for flavor profile, polyphenol concentration, lipid composition, and bioactive content — and chosen for traits that traditional agriculture cannot reliably deliver.

"The output is consistent, traceable, and aligned with the clean-label, functional-first demands of the modern food maker."

Where conventional cacao is at the mercy of weather, pest, and policy, our process is reproducible by design. Real cacao, on demand.
